Dr. Ford Brewer was the typical poster boy of a healthy lifestyle. But at age 57, he discovered his arteries are full of plaque. He then made several lifestyle changes to reverse 20 years' worth of arterial plaque.
When it comes to a healthy lifestyle, Dr. Ford Brewer was your typical poster boy.
He started his career as an ER doctor in his early 20s. He went to John Hopkins to study preventive medicine. He loved it, and he did well. He practiced a good lifestyle, performed regular exercises, and observed a plant-based diet.
All these things, however, didn’t ensure crystal-clear arteries for him. In February 2015, Dr. Brewer went through a CIMT test, and he got a surprise—he got plaques here and there, in different parts of his body. He was 57 then, but his arterial age is roughly 73 years old!
So he had a lifestyle check and realized some things. He then followed the standard practices to address his plaque. He changed several aspects of his lifestyle to reverse 20 years’ worth of arterial plaque.
